The Astronomical Society of Penang will be conducting an Advanced Planetary Imaging Online Workshop on October 16, 2022 (Sunday), conducted by renowned amateur astronomer and astrophotographer William Chin.

William Chin Wei Loon is an amateur astronomer who also has experience in professional astronomy. His interest and pursuits in astronomy began when he was 12 years old and nearly 30 years later, he is still pushing the limits of his astronomical capabilities. He has served as an astronomy research assistant at the University of Malaya, became the first Malaysian to be recognized on NASA’s APOD, published astronomical articles in newspapers, taking astrophotos using cellphones and winning international competitions, lead an International Olympiad in Astronomy team, traveled the world in pursuit of eclipse. William has been living a truly astronomically centered life!

In this workshop, you will learn the seasonal planning for planetary imaging, how to perform derotation to improve your images, and imaging with a monochromatic camera.
