Mr. Chol Vichaidit is a prominent amateur astronomer specializing in astro-sketching in Thailand.
Growing up surrounded by nature in the southern province of Nakorn Si Thammarat, Mr. Chol developed a love for nature, and especially the stars. He first made an attempt to sketch the Pleiades in 2005 while viewing the famous star cluster through a telescope, and he never looked back.
As Mr. Chol’s astro-sketching work grew in popularity, he was invited to interviews and to contribute articles in local magazines. Recently, the National Astronomical Institute of Thailand (NARIT) invited him to lecture about astronomical sketching and observation. Mr. Chol also authors a blog called siamskies.com and is the co-admin for Thaistargazers Facebook group.
